welcome to my home!
a geocity website
“welcome to my home!”, is a web project I created that revisits the internet aesthetics of the early ’90s to 2000s which is often referred to as the “old web” or “early web.” This era was defined by pixelated GIFs, low-resolution images, and highly personalized websites, many of which were built by individuals from their homes. Inspired by that DIY spirit, I set out to create a similar experience using HTML and CSS to make a site that truly feels like me.
In today’s digital landscape, where the internet is filled with sleek, minimal, and uniform websites, we’ve lost some of the charm and individuality that once made browsing feel personal. This project is a small attempt to bring that back and a small chat with my best friend about the internet asthetics today.
